Thirty posters testament to the artistic activity of the Belle Epoque
As part of the exhibition "Posters of the Belle Epoque. Between Pleasure and Sights " at the Malmundarium in Malmedy, the Museum of Ixelles has loaned out thirty posters testament to the artistic activity of the Belle Epoque. At the end of the 19th century, shows, exhibitions and plays were plentiful in Paris and Brussels. The artistic poster became the preferred medium of broadcast and these creations soon became artistic works in their own right.
Thanks to a unique presentation of original lithographs by Jules Cheret, Steinlen and Privat Livemont, visitors can discover the history of entertainment and partying in Paris and Brussels including the Moulin Rouge, the famous singer Yvette Guilbert and the Black Cat Cabaret!
